HI, WE’RE DAVID & KATIE REID We love pastors and missionaries!
We believe ministry is one of the hardest and most important jobs in the world. We know this firsthand.
We planted a church and pastored it for 10 years. We have been married 25 years (with 3 awesome kids who keep us young to show for it!). In our full-time ministry experience, we had a front row seat to the amazing power of the Gospel to change lives through the work of a pastor sold out to his calling to undershepherd Jesus’ flock.
But we also weathered clinical depression, periods of burnout, church tragedies, economic downturns, leadership failures, loneliness, and the stress that full time ministry puts on raising a family. Through it all, we learned that Jesus is faithful to see us through every challenge. We experienced “in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” (Romans 8:37).
God released us from our assignment at Peachtree Church in 2012. Since then, we’ve been rocking the summer season of life rearing three children (Abbie (18), Ben (15), and Rosie (8). My day job is leading a team of talented, young engineers in Restaurant Experience at the Chick-fil-A Support Center. We work to make sure you get hot, fresh food quickly.
We’re passionate about the next calling we believe God has been preparing us for: to come alongside ministers to meet a strategic need in the Kingdom. Over the last few years, there have been an alarming number of high-profile pastor suicides and moral failures. Whenever I see these, I have two thoughts:
- “There but for the grace of God, go I.”, and
- “Why wasn’t somebody there for this pastor to keep him from going down this path?”
Katie and I are passionate to help fill that role. Less dramatically, but even more tragically, 1800 pastors leave ministry every month in America. This ought not to be.
Katie has spiritual gifts of discernment, exhortation and encouragement. She also has a Master’s degree in Marriage & Family Counseling (M.A Pastoral Counseling, 2018). I have a shepherd’s heart and love to coach leaders to get to the core of an issue. I have a Master’s of Theology (Th.M, Dallas Seminary, 2002). We love to practice hospitality and would be honored to serve you. Our passion is to lavish the love of God on the servants of God so they can be refreshed to better fulfill the call of God on their lives.
